Christ Community Church
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2018 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed a new facility for Christ Community Church in Sumter. The project features structural steel construction with a brick veneer exterior. Hawkins & Kolb provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. The project was completed two months ahead of schedule and within budget. |
Oak Hill Medical Park
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2014 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed Oak Hill Medical Park, an approximately 20,000-square-foot medical complex designed to accommodate four separate tenants. The facility features a steel-frame structure with brick veneer, a standing-seam metal roof, storefront windows and doors, and metal stud framing. Hawkins & Kolb provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. This fast-track project was completed on time and within the negotiated cost cap. |
Academic Learning Center
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2009 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed a 13,960-square-foot addition and renovation for the Academic Learning Center. The project included renovations to classrooms, restrooms, break rooms, and corridors, along with a new entryway designed to provide a distinct identity for the alternative school. H&K provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. Originally scheduled for 12 months, the project was completed in 10 months. |

Palmetto Tennis Center and Baseball Park
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2004 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed the Palmetto Tennis Center and Baseball Park for the City of Sumter. The project included a 2,700-square-foot tennis center and a 4,200-square-foot baseball pavilion featuring public restrooms, concession stands, and press boxes. Hawkins & Kolb provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. |
Patriot Park Phase I Soccer Complex
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2008 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed the Patriot Park Phase I Soccer Complex for Sumter County. The project included site work, six full-size soccer fields, a parking lot, lighting, a ticket booth, and a 4,690-square-foot, one-story pavilion. Hawkins & Kolb provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. This fast-track project was completed on time and within the County's budget. |
Sumter Economic Development Center
Location: Downtown Sumter, SC | Completed: 2018 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed the Sumter Economic Development Center in the heart of Downtown Sumter's Historic District. The government facility features a structural steel building with brick and fiber cement exterior cladding. Developed through a joint effort between the City and County of Sumter, the project was designed to provide a sustainable, efficient, and modern office building. H&K provided construction management, procurement, and administration, completing the project on time and within budget. |

Adult Education Center
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2008 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed the Adult Education Center, a facility featuring classroom training spaces and administrative offices. Designed with sustainability in mind, the project demonstrates leadership in energy management. Hawkins & Kolb provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. The project was completed below its construction budget. |
Elgin Community Park
Location: Elgin, SC Hawkins & Kolb Construction and HK&W Marine worked together to create Elgin Community Park, providing a recreational space for the community to enjoy. The project included a timber fishing pier, picnic shelter, boardwalk bridge, miles of accessible trails, a parking lot, and a stone entrance sign. |
Wilson Hall School
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2022 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed a 28,000-square-foot addition to Wilson Hall School in Sumter. The project included a new chapel, weight room, offices, and classrooms, with construction featuring structural steel, block and masonry walls, and standing-seam metal roofing. |

Lynches River Environmental Discovery Center
Location: Coward, SC | Completed: 2007 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed the Lynches River Environmental Discovery Center, a 2,680-square-foot elevated wood and steel-frame facility designed to combine outdoor education and tourism with sustainable construction. The project features recycled wood siding selected from local barns and farm structures. Using a Design-Build approach with Drakeford Architects, Hawkins & Kolb helped bring the project within budget while completing it on schedule. |
Patriot Park Baseball Complex
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2009 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed the Patriot Park Baseball Complex for Sumter County. The project included site work, four ball fields, parking, lighting, a ticket booth, and a 15,000-square-foot, three-story pavilion. Hawkins & Kolb provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. This fast-track project was completed on time and within the County's budget. |
Patriot Park Environmental Center
Location: Sumter, SC | Completed: 2018 Hawkins & Kolb Construction completed the Patriot Park Environmental Center, a multi-purpose facility designed to support recreation and hands-on environmental education. The facility includes an observation deck, covered porch, meeting space, catering kitchen, restrooms, and an outdoor classroom. H&K provided construction documentation, procurement, construction, project management, and administration. The fast-track project was completed on time and within the County's budget. |

Plowden Pond
Location: Sumter, SC Hawkins & Kolb Construction and HK&W Marine worked with the City of Sumter on improvements at Plowden Pond. To address ongoing maintenance concerns with the existing wood decking and structural framing, the team worked with Owens Corning to incorporate WearDeck composite materials as a more durable solution. |
South Carolina Waterfowl Association, Camp Woodie
Location: Pinewood, SC Hawkins & Kolb Construction and HK&W Marine completed waterfront improvements at Camp Woodie for the South Carolina Waterfowl Association. The project included several fishing platforms, an environmental learning dock, and a covered boathouse with dedicated slips for canoes and pontoon boats. Composite decking was incorporated to improve longevity and reduce ongoing maintenance. |
Lake Marion Passage
Location: Summerton, SC Hawkins & Kolb Construction worked with Ben Cox LLC to create public access near the old Highway 301 bridge at Lake Marion. The project included a covered fishing pier featuring composite handrails and decking, providing a dedicated waterfront access point for visitors. |
