Hawkins and Kolb Construction Co., Inc. has been in operation for the past 45 years. It was formed in 1976 by P.T (Tommy) Hawkins and O. Mack Kolb. Tommy Hawkins was in construction for many years prior to this, acquiring his construction knowledge working with his father, John Hawkins who was a Sumter area home builder. Tommy was also the Commercial superintendent for 15 years at Boozer & Wharton construction prior to starting Hawkins & Kolb with Mack. Mack has a 39 year history in real estate in the area and is the Broker-in-charge of the real estate division, Century 21 - Hawkins & Kolb. Christopher (Chris) Hawkins joined the company in 1990, and assumed the role of president when his father Tommy retired in 1997. Hawkins and Kolb has grown since its' original creation as mainly a custom home builder into one of the premiere general contractors in the region with an impressive portfolio of projects, in both the commercial and residential areas. Including the awarding winning Lynches River recreational Center, Patriot Park Athletic complex, many area churches, and Hawkins and Kolb continues to be one of the area's most sought after builders of quality custom homes.

Richard WhiteEstimator, Pre-Construction Manager and Project ManagerRichard has 17 years of experience in the construction business. He has been working for Hawkins and Kolb since 2003. Richard started in the construction business at an entry level position and has gradually worked his way to upper management. Working as a field supervisor, Richard has managed multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining great communication with clients and building efficiency. Over time and through hands on training, Richard has been able to help with estimating and management of various projects. Richard currently handles most of the estimating in the office and is capable of multiple project management.

Burns ShawSuperintendentBurns has over 15 years of construction experience. He began working with Hawkins and Kolb in 2012 and has worked in the field as a supervisor. He handles much of Hawkins and Kolb’s day to day duties on many jobs keeping in communication with subcontractors, customers and vendors.

Douglas BarthSuperintendentDoug has over 30 years of construction experience. He has been doing work with Hawkins and Kolb since 2002. Doug works in the field as a Supervisor and conducts much of Hawkins and Kolbs’ framing of wood and metal. Doug also assists in job estimating and in the bid process preformed at Hawkins and Kolb.

Shane GreenOffice Manager and AR/APShane has over 10 years of construction experience.
Shane began working with Hawkins and Kolb at the age of 16 and has been with Hawkins and Kolb for a total of 9 years. Shane worked in the field as a Supervisor and a Lead man and handled much of Hawkins and Kolbs’ foundation work on many jobs. Shane was also employed at Sifco Mechanical for 2 years prior to him becoming our Office Manager. |
Chrissy SmoakAccounts Payable and Customer ServiceChrissy graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1966, and immediately started work with Federal Mogul Corporation in the Engineering Department, and then transferring to the Summerton Plant. Chrissy has been with Hawkins and Kolb for the past 26 years. She has been working with accounts pay able, customer service, job cost, along with many other clerical duties. She is excellent in communicating with the vendors and customers.
